Universal safety rules

These rules apply to all Blumi products. Please follow them on every use, without exception.

Adult supervision is required whenever children are in or close to water

No product can take the place of an attentive adult. Drowning can be silent, sudden, and happen within seconds. Children can drown in shallow water, including bathtubs and paddling pools. Keep children under 5 within arm’s reach in any water setting.

No Blumi item is a flotation, life-saving, or swimming aid

Do not depend on any product in our range to keep a child above water. If your child needs buoyancy support, use an approved life jacket that meets the safety standards in your country.

Check every product before each use

Inspect straps, seams, lenses, seals, valves, and stitching. If anything is cracked, frayed, ripped, leaking, faded, or damaged, stop using it immediately and contact us for a replacement.

Use every product only for its intended purpose

Do not use any Blumi item for an activity other than the one described in this guide. Using safe products in unintended ways is one of the most common causes of injury.

Do not modify, alter, drill, cut, glue, or repair any Blumi product

Changes void the warranty and can create unpredictable safety hazards. If a product is damaged, replace it - do not try to repair it.

Suitable for ages 18+ unless stated otherwise

Review each product section in this guide for age guidance, weight limits, and special instructions. Do not use products on or with children below the stated age.

Stop use if irritation, rash, breathing difficulty, or discomfort appears

Some children may react to silicone, fabrics, or other materials. Stop using the product and speak with a healthcare professional if symptoms continue.

Keep every piece of packaging away from children

Plastic bags, clips, ties, and small parts can create serious choking and suffocation risks. Recycle responsibly and never allow children to play with packaging.

Store dry, away from heat and direct sunlight

Temperatures above 40°C can damage elastics, foam, plastic, and inflatable materials. Sunlight also breaks materials down over time. Avoid storing products in cars, near radiators, or in direct sun.

For human use only

Do not use any Blumi product on or with pets, animals, or as animal accessories.

SplashyEyes™ Goggles (incl. Full Nose Cover)

Age: 3 years and over. A responsible adult must fit and supervise young children.

How to use safely

  • An adult should place and adjust the goggles on a young child for the first few uses.
  • Set the strap snugly, but not tightly. Too loose can leak; too tight can cause headaches or pressure marks.
  • Gently press the eyecups against the face to create a seal before tightening the strap.
  • Remove by lifting from the forehead, not by pulling the strap, which can snap back toward the eye.
  • Full Nose Cover variant: make sure the nose cover never limits normal breathing. Check the fit every time. Remove the goggles between active swims; do not wear them while resting in the water.

Do not

  • Dive or swim below 2 metres - the lens is intended only for surface and shallow swimming; deeper pressure may crack the lens and injure the eye.
  • Look directly at the sun or use them as sunglasses - the lens is not designed to block direct high-intensity solar UV.
  • Wear while sleeping, resting, or when not actively swimming.
  • Wear during contact sports, ball games, or rough play.
  • Use in saunas, hot tubs, or any water above 40°C - heat damages the polycarbonate lens.
  • Use as eye protection for power tools, fireworks, paintball, airsoft, chemicals, or any activity other than swimming.
  • Modify, drill, or pierce any part of the goggles.
  • Let pets or animals wear the goggles.

Care & cleaning

  • Rinse with fresh water after every use.
  • Do not wipe the inside of the lens. Wiping removes the anti-fog coating and is the main reason goggles fog early.
  • If fogging occurs, dip the goggles in clean water and shake away the excess.
  • Air dry away from direct heat and sunlight.
  • Store in the provided case.

When to replace

  • Lens has any crack, chip, or scratch
  • Strap has lost stretch or is fraying
  • Seal is hardened, cracked, or no longer keeps water out
  • Anti-fog coating has worn away and the lenses fog repeatedly

SunnyEyes™ Sunglasses

Age: 3 years and over.

How to use safely

  • Use only for everyday sun protection.
  • Inspect the frames and lenses before every use; stop using them if anything is cracked or chipped.
  • Adjust the fit so the frames sit comfortably without pinching the temples or slipping off.

Do not

  • Use for swimming, water sports, or as a swim mask.
  • Look directly at the sun, an eclipse, or any intense light source - permanent eye damage can still occur, even while wearing them.
  • Wear while driving at night or in low-light conditions - the tint can dangerously reduce visibility.
  • Use as safety glasses for tools, fireworks, lasers, or anything beyond everyday sun use.
  • Wear during contact sports - the frames are not impact-rated for sport.
  • Allow toddlers to chew or bite the frames, arms, or lenses.
  • Modify, repair, or try to replace the lenses.

Care & cleaning

  • Clean with a soft microfibre cloth and clean water.
  • Do not use solvents, alcohol, household cleaners, or paper towels - these can scratch the lens coating.
  • Keep in the supplied case when not in use.
  • Do not leave in hot cars or direct sunlight - heat can warp the frames.

When to replace

  • Any crack or chip appears on the lenses or frames
  • Hinges become loose and the case cannot keep them stable
  • Lens coating is cloudy, peeling, or heavily scratched

SplashCap™ Swim Cap

Age: Follow the size guide on the packaging. Not suitable for infants under 2 years

How to use safely

  • An adult should fit the cap on a young child for the first few times.
  • Pull it on from the forehead toward the back of the neck.
  • The fit should be snug, never painful. Remove it at once if your child says it hurts.
  • Tuck long hair carefully to avoid pinching around the cap edge.
  • Slightly wet the cap and head before fitting - it will slide on more easily.

Do not

  • Pull the cap over the face under any circumstances.
  • Place the cap over a child’s face for any reason - this creates a serious suffocation risk.
  • Use on infants or in any way that covers the airways.
  • Wear in saunas or hot tubs.
  • Use to cover wounds, burns, or skin conditions.
  • Wear in cold weather as a winter hat - it provides no insulation.
  • Modify, cut, or change the cap.

Allergy notice

Some children may have a mild reaction to silicone. Stop use if redness, itching, or irritation appears, and consult a healthcare professional if symptoms continue.

Care & cleaning

  • Rinse with fresh water after every use.
  • Pat dry with a soft towel - do not wring or twist.
  • Lightly dust the inside with talcum powder before storage to help preserve elasticity.
  • Store flat, away from heat and direct sunlight.

When to replace

  • Cap has tears, holes, or split seams
  • Silicone has hardened, become tacky, or is permanently misshapen
  • Cap no longer keeps its shape on the head

SplashRobe™ Hooded Towel

Age: Follow the size guide on the packaging. The robe must not drag on the floor because this can cause trips.

How to use safely

  • Use only out of the water, after swimming or bathing.
  • Always take the robe off before swimming, paddling, or any water activity.
  • Make sure the hem clears the floor by a few centimetres.

Do not

  • Enter water while wearing the robe - wet fabric becomes very heavy and can pull a child down.
  • Allow a child to sleep, rest, or remain unattended while wearing it - the hood can block an infant’s airways.
  • Use as a swaddle, blanket, or restraint for infants.
  • Pull the hood over a child’s face for any reason.
  • Wear during cooking or near open flames, hobs, or BBQs - towel fabric is flammable.
  • Use as a costume hood, mask, or for any play involving restraint.

Care & cleaning

  • Wash before first use.
  • Machine wash cold with similar colours.
  • Tumble dry low. Do not bleach.
  • Iron on low heat if needed; avoid printed or embroidered areas.

When to replace

  • Fabric is badly worn, faded, or has lost absorbency
  • Hood seam or hem has opened
  • Persistent odour remains after washing

SplashSteps™ Slippers

Age: Follow the size guide on the packaging.

How to use safely

  • Use for walking on pool decks, bathroom floors, and beach paths.
  • Walk - never run.
  • Stop using them if the sole cracks, peels, or becomes smooth.

Do not

  • Use in water, including swimming or paddling, or on diving boards.
  • Run, jump, or play sports while wearing them.
  • Use on stairs - foam soles do not grip stair edges well.
  • Use on ice, snow, or frozen ground.
  • Wear while operating machinery, riding bikes or scooters, or driving.
  • Use as outdoor walking shoes for long distances.

Wet surfaces can still be slippery even with non-slip soles, especially when shower gel, oils, sand, moss, or algae are present. Always walk with care.

Care & cleaning

  • Rinse with fresh water after every use.
  • Air dry away from direct heat - heat can warp the foam.
  • Do not place in a washing machine or tumble dryer.

When to replace

  • Sole is cracked, peeling, or worn smooth
  • Strap or upper has split
  • Foam has compressed and no longer cushions

SplashPack™ Swim Bag

Age: 3 years and over. Maximum load: 3 kg. Splash-resistant, not waterproof.

How to use safely

  • The drawstring is for closing the bag only. Wear it as a backpack using the shoulder cords.
  • Do not exceed the maximum load.

Do not

  • Place the cord around the neck under any circumstances - this creates a serious strangulation risk.
  • Submerge the bag or use it to protect electronics, cash, passports, or documents.
  • Carry hot food, drinks, glass, or sharp items.
  • Modify the cords or replace them with rope, string, or other materials.
  • Use as a flotation device, swim aid, or anything other than a bag.
  • Allow infants or toddlers under 3 to play with the cords.

Care & cleaning

  • Rinse with fresh water after each use.
  • Air dry fully, inside and out, before storage to prevent mildew.
  • Spot clean with a soft cloth and mild detergent if needed.

When to replace

  • Cords are frayed, permanently knotted, or no longer work as a drawstring
  • Fabric has tears or holes
  • Persistent mildew odour remains after cleaning

How to use safely

  • Fill only with clean fresh water.
  • Aim at least 2 metres away from any person.
  • Adult supervision is required near pools, ponds, or any body of water.
  • Check for cracks before every use; do not use if damaged.

Do not

  • Fill with hot water, soap, bleach, cleaning fluids, fuels, or any liquid other than cold fresh water - serious harm, including chemical burns, can result.
  • Aim at the face, eyes, ears, or open mouth of any person or animal.
  • Aim at vehicles, drivers, cyclists, or anyone operating equipment.
  • Aim at electrical outlets, appliances, sockets, or live wiring.

  • Leaks occur during use
  • Pump or trigger no longer works correctly

⚠ CloudFloat™ Floating Chair - ADULTS ONLY

This item is for adults only. Do not let children use it for any reason.

Age: 18 years and over. Maximum user weight: 110 kg /242.5 Pound

This is a leisure pool float. It is NOT a life-saving device, life jacket, or swim aid. You must be a confident swimmer to use it safely.

How to use safely

  • Use only in calm, supervised swimming pools.
  • Inflate until firm but still yielding to finger pressure. Stop inflating when seams feel taut but not rigid.
  • Inspect for leaks, slow punctures, or seam separation before every use.
  • Deflate fully when not being used; store away from sunlight.
  • If a puncture happens while you are in the water, get off the float immediately and leave the water.

Do not

  • Allow any child to use the float, even with adult supervision - it is not designed for children’s body weight or proportions.
  • Use in oceans, lakes, rivers, currents, waves, surf, or open water - wind and tide can carry the float away in seconds.
  • Stand, kneel, walk, or jump on the float.
  • Cannonball, dive, or jump onto the float from height.
  • Use the float as a sled, ramp, slide, or for any purpose other than relaxing on calm water.
  • Allow more than one person on the float at any time.
  • Tow the float behind a boat, jet ski, or any vehicle.
  • Use the float to carry, transport, or support children in any way.
  • Sleep on the float - you may drift, burn badly in the sun, dehydrate, or fall into the water.
  • Smoke, vape, light matches, use BBQs, fire pits, or have any open flame, hot coal, or spark within 3 metres.
  • Use near sharp objects, glass, jewellery with sharp edges, or pet claws.
  • Use in spas, hot tubs, or any water above 40°C - heat weakens the PVC and seams.
  • Inflate with helium, compressed gas, air compressors above standard pressure, or anything other than the included pump or a comparable manual or electric pump made for inflatables.
  • Inflate by mouth - saliva can weaken the seam adhesive over time. Use the included pump.
  • Over-inflate - this strains the seams and can cause sudden seam failure.
  • Add weights, anchors, ropes, or any attachments.
  • Use during thunderstorms, lightning, or high wind.
  • Use after consuming alcohol, cannabis, recreational drugs, or prescription drugs that affect judgement or coordination.
  • Use as a swimming aid for non-swimmers, weak swimmers, or anyone unable to self-rescue if the float deflates.

Care & cleaning

  • Inspect before and after every use.
  • Deflate fully after each use.
  • Rinse with fresh water and dry completely before storage.
  • Store away from sunlight, sharp objects, and heat sources.
  • Repair small punctures only with a manufacturer-approved repair kit; replace the float if damage is structural.

When to replace

  • Any seam separation
  • Punctures that cannot be reliably repaired
  • PVC has hardened, cracked, or become significantly discoloured
  • The float does not hold air for the length of normal use

General care guide

After every use

  • Rinse with fresh water - chlorine, salt, and sand all break down product materials.
  • Air dry fully before storage - mildew is the main cause of early product failure.
  • Store away from direct sunlight, heaters, radiators, and car windows.
  • Inspect before the next use.

Storage best practices

  • Keep products dry. Damp storage causes mildew, odours, and material breakdown.
  • Avoid pressure or heavy weight on stored items - this can deform goggles, slippers, and inflatables.
  • Use the provided cases or pouches where applicable.
  • Keep out of reach of pets and small children when not in use.

Extending product life

  • Rinse immediately after pool, sea, or chlorinated use - leaving it until “later” is the most common mistake.
  • Always air dry before placing items into a closed bag or box.
  • Avoid extreme temperatures below 0°C or above 40°C.
  • Replace products at the first sign of wear rather than waiting for failure.
